Corporate Surplus Responsibility – meet Company Shop

Company Shop in Corby is one of scores of businesses to have signed up for Northamptonshire’s Full Circle project, pledging its support and commitment to protecting the environment and to helping reduce food waste.

‘Where others see waste, we see opportunity’ is a message from Company Shop, who are one of many businesses and organisations featured on our new interactive map.

The Northamptonshire based Company Shop is based on Princewood Road in Corby. This award-winning organisation includes 14 superstores offering deeply discounted food and household products to an exclusive membership base alongside a social enterprise scheme, which sees 10 smaller Community Shops using surplus food to do more than feed those on the cusp of food poverty by building confident individuals, giving people purpose, and nurturing stronger communities.

“We are proud to be a part of this North Northamptonshire project and delighted to be featured on the new and interactive map. We are passionate about stopping waste and protecting the environment and are working hard to change mindsets and educate the industry on the importance of sustainability.”

At Company Shop perfectly good surplus food is saved and shoppers benefit from huge savings on big brands, household products and even clothing. Last year UK members collectively saved over £74 million on their shopping. They also saved over 34,000 tonnes of products from going to waste.

People qualify for free membership if they work or receive a pension from the food industry and if they belong to some of the key worker groups, such as the emergency services and NHS. The shop also accepts applications from means tested benefit recipients, charity workers and many more people and employment sectors.
